On The Road-(From the opening of the same article by Dave Terry.)
After 22 hours by jet from Maui, during the holy daze of winter, and 26 hours on the road in the back of a smoke filled bus through the swamplands of Florida, a 200 pound black woman filling the two seats across from me says, "Wake up sugar, you in West Palm Beach!"
I ease my battered body down the steps of a vehicle which has vibrated like an out-of-time washing machine, only to discover my bags have been left behind. As someone once said, "It's not an adventure, it's a job."
Several hours later, Shawn Donahue picks me up and takes me to Cosio Galko's trailer where I am forced to use Cosio's room, one of his cars and his shower, while I attend Doug Hunt's Michelob-sponsored Atlantic Cup. This last contest of '86 (and first of '87) attracts numerous professionals, including the calculating Nevin Sayre, the awesome Aguera Brothers, Karla Weber, Rhonda Smith, Dave Ross, Paul Coutts, Caroll-Ann Alie and Tim Berkstresser, all battling for the $6,000 purse. I have come to demonstrate and give instruction on the use of the Wind Weapon...and to report for Wind Surf Magazine.
